Foulkeways at Gwynedd has been setting the standards of excellence in retirement communities since 1967 when our not-for-profit community was established through the dedicated efforts of Gwynedd Meeting and in affiliation with the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers). This "friendly community" was the first Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) in Pennsylvania and the first Quaker retirement community in the nation.
Our community is enriched by the diversity of residents and staff. In addition, our admissions policies are governed by non-discrimination on the basis of race, religion, national origin, gender, disability, sexual orientation, or economic resources. In other words, all are welcome at Foulkeways.
One of the many comforts of living at Foulkeways Continuing Care Retirement Community is the knowledge that you will receive the highest level of quality health care, regardless of your changing needs. And should those needs include assisted living or skilled nursing care, you will receive the care you require in either Abington House or Gwynedd House located on the Foulkeways campus.
The following highlights are also a part of our continuing care contract:
* Affordable living accommodations
* Full health cares
* Pharmaceutical allowance
* Elegant, fine dining as well as casual dining
* Weekly housekeeping
* Fitness Center
* Indoor pool
* Cable TV
* And much more
We believe that our strong financial base, our unmatched amenities and services among retirement communities and our long, successful history offer you the security and peace of mind so important in choosing a retirement community you will one day call, "home." We encourage you to plan a visit to our beautiful, 106 acre suburban campus. Meet with our residents, walk about our naturally wooded and graceful grounds, visit several apartments, talk with members of our staff and see first hand how Foulkeways can match your future needs. HEALTH CARE SERVICES
Foulkeways has proven itself, for nearly four decades, as a provider of superb health care services. Our health care philosophy calls first for a pro-active focus on the maintenance of good health and mobility through good nutrition, exercise, and enjoyable community life. The assisted living and skilled nursing care centers maintain this same focus when residents need additional support in times of illness or injury or during the changes that are a part of aging. To meet all of these needs, Foulkeways offers a continuum of care, including Residential Healthcare, Assisted Living, and Skilled Nursing Care, all of which are covered by the continuing care contract. Both Abington House assisted living residence and Gwynedd Housed skilled nursing center are licensed by the state of Pennsylvania. In addition, Gwynedd House is Medicare certified.
The opening of Gwynedd House, Foulkeways skilled nursing care residence in August 2001, and the new Abington House assisted living residence in July, 2003, represents the finest and most unique health care concept in our area.
