What is assisted living?
A special combination of housing, supportive services, personalized assistance, and health care designed to respond to the individual needs of those who require help with activities of daily living. Supportive services are available 24 hours a day, to meet scheduled and unscheduled needs, in a way that promotes maximum dignity and encourages independence for each resident.

Twin Cedars provides assistance in: tasks of daily living, personal hygiene, medications, financial management, community and social activities.

COMPREHENSIVE NURSING INTERVENTONS:

Nurses observe for minor changes in resident's physical needs, enabling adaptation of care that promotes optimal health.

BRUCE HARDING
Bruce Harding is a licensed Health Care Administrator with over 35 years experience in the health care field. Brice is a Board Member of the Pennsylvania Assisted Living Association . He graduated from Phillips University, with postgraduate work at Indiana University Medical Center. Bruce is a lifetime member of the National Registry of Who's Who.

Bruce was born and raised in Bradford County and moved to Pike County in 1973. He holds positions in the Shohola Township government and his church. Bruce and his wife Linda live on site.


LINDA HARDING
Linda Harding is a Registered Nurse certified in Gerontology and is a Certified Diabetes Educator. She grew up on the farm where Twin Cedars now stands. Linda graduated from Robert Packer Hospital School of Nursing and has experience in Psychiatric Nursing, Public Health Nursing, and 13 years in Nursing Homes. She coordinated the at-home care of the elderly for eight years as a doctor's office nurse. Linda volunteers in her church, leads the local diabetes support group, and is a member of the Pennsylvania State Nurses Association, American Association of Diabetic Educators, American Gerntological Nurses Association and the DV VO TECH Advisory Board. Linda is listed in Marquis Who's Who in Nursing.

DATE OF LICENSING BY COMMONWEALTH OF PENNSYLVANIA:
1990 Opening of Twin Cedars' 6,000 sq. ft. New Building to provide assistance in daily living. 1996 Opening of Twin Cedars' 4,000 sq. ft. Addition to expand residential service and recreational capabilities.


SETTING:
60 acres of tranquil, Pennsylvania countryside bordered by woodlands, forests and a blueberry grove which are a natural habitat for wildlife: Deer, Turkeys, Rabbits and Birds.


FACILITY DESIGN:
10,000 square feet of spacious ranch home style living to enable easier access to assistance and activities. Single and double occupancy rooms, all equipped with private bath. Decks and paved paths enable residents to take advantage of gardens, pond, fountain, picnic areas, and outdoor seating areas.
The recent addition includes an ADA approved Shower Center, Library, Activity Room which invites crafts, small carpentry projects and a recreational kitchen for baking and family parties. There is a Laundry for residential use, Beauty Salon and Exercise Room.
